These requirements are for running MC-1 at the oversampling settings below. Slower computers can use a lower setting, which adds more aliasing.
If your processor is not listed, compare its single-core and multi-core performance with the processors above.
Choosing ideal oversampling
Set OS for your session's sample rate as shown below. These settings keep MC-1's internal rate between 352.8 kHz and 1.536 MHz. MC-1 shows this rate as Internal. They also use at least two oversampling stages, which is where the anti-aliasing filters work best. Every OS setting works at any sample rate. Lower settings use less CPU but alias more.

You can go past these settings, but returns diminish quickly. Each step up costs a lot more CPU for an increasingly smaller improvement.
Installing
macOS
- Open the installer and follow it.
- Enter your password when it asks. The plugins install in
/Library, which needs it. - Restart your DAW so it rescans.
Each plugin has its own installer. It puts the AU in
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and the VST3 in
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3. Trim's installer also puts its standalone app in
/Applications.
Windows
- Unzip the download.
- Copy the
.vst3folder (MC-1.vst3,IS-1.vst3orTrim.vst3) intoC:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. - Restart your DAW so it rescans.
Copy the whole folder, not the files inside it. On Windows a VST3 is a
folder, and a DAW will not load it if the folder is broken up. The .exe is the
standalone app and can go anywhere.
Activating
Open the plugin, click Activate and sign in with your VanDeYacht Audio account. The plugin finds your license itself, so there is no key to type.
MC-1 and IS-1 each have a 30-day trial. Start it on your account page, where the installers are. Then sign in from the plugin. Trim is free. Click Get Trim free on your account page and check out for $0.00. The license appears on your account a moment later.
A license runs on two computers at once. Your account page lists them and can release either one. If a computer is lost or wiped, open a ticket and we will release it for you.
